Love Birds, a whimsical conversational design was painted in a traditional watercolour mix, drawing inspiration from the Pennsylvanian German folk art of the late 1700s. This strong but naive style was used to decorate manuscripts, textiles and furniture, using motifs such as hearts, birds and flowers.
