Description
Byrne was inspired by an altar piece found in the Academia Gallery in Florence. It was commissioned by the ‘Lords of Money’. The design of this print illustrates how the ‘Arts and Crafts’ movement used this period of design history for inspiration and how flora and fauna has been popular within all periods of dress.
Byrne is from Liberty Art Fabrics Seasonal Autumn/Winter 2015, Synchronicity collection, drawing on the fashions of past eras – with the intricate details of Renaissance art acting as a catalyst. This collection is an inspirational journey through fashion history, charting the moments of synchronicity, genius and dedication that have provided a design foundation for contemporary textiles.
